Industry-Academe Fusion Research Village in SSU. This is the first such
program of any college in Seoul. SSU will begin managing this vil- lage
with a welcoming show at Genesis Hall’s 1st stage Last May, Small and
Medium Business Administration (SMBA) selected the five colleges in the
whole country that have good infra. In Seoul, SSU is the first college
with such village and is thus unique. The Industry-Academe Fusion Research
Village Support Project is a brainchild of the Middle and Small Company
Office, which trains people to research on middle-sized and small companies
and endeavors to improve their research power and skills, which are needed
to gain a competitive edge. This project promotes cooperation between the
academe and industry in the areas of research and development as well as
entrepreneurship through the laboratory established by indus- try in the
college, which has research infra. SSU president Hahn Hern-soo said,
“SMBA selected five excellent colleges in the whole country that foster
cooperation between the acad- eme and industry, and SSU was among those
that were selected, thanks to our Industry-Academe Fusion Research Village,
which makes us a unique college in Seoul. Utilizing our know-how and
experience, we help people acquire the skills needed to propel economic
growth through companies, the college, and particularly the laboratory that
has been built in the college. Thanks for attending this show.” The
Industry-Academe Fusion Research Village in SSU Genesis Hall has already
finished negotiations with the 20 companies selected to be part of the
program, consisting of electronic, information-telecommunication, bio,
machinery, and chemical companies, among others. In the program, the
laboratory established by selected companies in Genesis Hall fosters
close cooperation between the core personnel of SSU and the laboratory’s
research personnel.
