Ship film screening in the Venture and Small and Medium Enterprises Center.
This screening was conducted as part of the activities for Free Culture Day,
a program hosted by the College of Social Sciences to deliver important messages
to Soongsilians. Project Cheonan Ship is a politically controversial film. The
film openly questions the authenticity of the Ministry of National Defense
(MND)’s report on the Cheonan ship sink- ing incident, and offers a view on the
same incident quite dif- ferent from that of the MND. It also provides other
scientific theories that can explain the cause of the sinking, different from
MND’s conclusion that the sinking resulted from the North Korean Army’s torpedo
attack. The College of Social Sciences of SSU will continue to pose important
questions to the society and communicate with Soongsilians through Free Culture
Day. Bae Byeong-jin (Political Science & International Relations, 10) said,
“Why is our nation trying to block the question? Why do they label the people
who pose questions “commies”? I think there is a need for more communication
politically and socially.
