SSU offered Humanities Academy on Thursdays from March 29 to May 31. This program, which started last year, helps the students to have insight by building up their knowledge on humanities.
The theme of this year’s Humanities Academy is ‘the world festival’ with ‘Japan Matsuri’, ‘Festival and mythology of ancient Greece’, ‘Octoberfest’, ‘Festival as a religious gesture’, ‘Homo Ludens in modern society’, ‘French street festival’, ‘A Buddhist festival’, and ‘Korean traditional festival’. The professors from the college of humanities took turns in giving 8 lectures on different subjects. This is for the SSU undergraduates and graduate students. Students, who have completed more than six courses, will receive a certificate and meal tickets. Without the extra fees, the students can take various humanities classes upon application.
Through this program, students can develop their ability to apply to all social parts based on the knowledge on humanities. It also gives the students a chance to take high quality classes that they are interested in outside their major.
