On October 1st, the 6th SSU Presidential Lecture was held at Han Kyungchik Memorial Hall. This lecture’s theme was “Architecture of Steven Hall – Making architecture,” with Steven Hall, a world-renowned architect who is considered as the new creative leader in the field of modern architecture, as speaker. Professor Kim Jeong-in from the School of Architecture introduced Steven Hall. He said, “Steven Hall not only reinterpreted the somewhat dry stage of modern architecture with a rare sensibility, but also broadened the landscape of world architecture by applying his own unique design approach.”
Steven Hall spoke about his “experiences” in the field of architecture through various expressions and overlapping space designs. He discussed the correlation between art and science, and nature and technology. He said architects must establish a good precedent for the future by utilizing public spaces as libraries.
A special exhibition on Steven Hall’s architectural drawings, models, and books was held at Hyungnam Hall, located on the second floor of the Hyungnam Memorial Engineering Building, through Saturday, October 27.
