SSU conducted non-face-to-face class in the first semester of 2020 in order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Earlier, SSU was scheduled to hold face-to-face classes after April 13 (Monday). However, according to a survey conducted by the student council, 68% of the students have chosen online classes for their safety for the remaining of the first semester. For laboratory subjects, the classes were allowed up to 17 weeks. Also, face-to-face classes were exceptionally available for some subjects from May 11 (Monday). For graduate schools, face-toface classes were enabled from April 13 (Monday) for smallscale lectures with fewer than 10 students only.
The evaluation method is carried out with absolute evaluation, and only two types of lectures are allowed: a class that watches videos produced by the professor a live-streaming class that utilizes video conferencing tools with the teachers. The mid-term exam will be left to the discretion of the professor in charge, but the final exam will be given in face-to-face exam form.
Lastly, the official end of the semester is June 20 (Saturday), and the laboratory subjects can be extended until June 27 (Saturday). In the second semester of 2020, it is expected that COVID-19 will come to an end and bring back normalcy to the campus.
