In February, SSU opened Learning Commons ‘Soongsil Square,’ on the first floor where a user-centered space emphasizes collaboration, creativity, communication, and relaxation. In recognition of the steady demand for pleasant libraries, the library was remodeled as a ‘Learning Commons’ on the second floor.
The first floor of the Central Library was remodeled and divided into spaces for collaboration and creativity, as well as venues for communication and relaxation. In the space for collaboration and creativity, open seminar rooms, large tables, and collaboration tables were installed to provide further efficiency to users. In the space for communication and relaxation, bar tables and recliner chairs were installed to provide accessibility. It has established itself as a resting place for users.
In addition, SSU remodeled the reading room on the second floor to provide more convenient and familiar space for users. Here, there is more space for those who want to work or relax alone. Recently, it is worth noting that it was designed to meet the one-person trend of being ‘alone,’ such as ‘Honbab’ (eating alone) and ‘Honsul’ (drinking alone).
SSU Central Library is changing from a closed to an open form that values creativity. Furthermore, efforts to reflect values and trends have been outstanding.
