Founded in 2004, SSU’s Foundation of University-Industry Coorperation continuously strives to achieve the vision of an industry-Academic Cooperation Base University that contributes to society based on the university’s educational ideology of ‘Truth and Service’. Specifically, they are trying to contribute to the development of SSU’s future technologies that meet the demand for core technologies such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things, which lead the era of the 4th industrial revolution.
In September, the Foundation of University-Industrial Cooperation and Intellectual Discovery signed a business agreement to revitalize industry-academic cooperation. Intellecual Discovery is a major IP (Internet Protocol) investment company specialized in industrial technology, and is planning to promote metaverse-related IP business. Through this agreement, they will cooperated with each other to develop the metaverse industry. SSU conducts entrance examination counseling by using metaverse, builds metaverse schools, conducts research by using metaverse in games and finance, and trains many software personnel.
Lee Jin-wook, head of the industry-academic cooperation team at SSU, said “Through this agreement, we will strengthen technology commercialization along with Intellectual Discovery to revitalize research activities of SSU professors to develop new technologies.” Bae Dong-seok, vice president of Intellectual Discovery, also said, “We plan to carry out various cooperations in the overall metaverse industry,” and “will contribute to the development of the fourth industrial revolution in the future.
