Memorial Service of Park Rae-Jeon
A memorial service of Park Rae-jeon for the 20th anniversary of his self-immolation was held at SSU. This memorial service was held in front of Park Rae-jeon’s memorial honors, installation incense burning room and worship at oran Park.
The memorial service was made up of the opening performance, courtesy people, visitors’ introduction, Park Rae-jeon’s introduction, the bereaved family’s speech, visitors’ speeches, Noraepae performances, the student council leader’s speech regarding the Department of Korean Literature, the student council leader’s speech of SSU, the incense burning and the offering of flowers in Park Rae-jeon’s emorial honors near the Central library. Also, the incense burning room can be visited in he Student Hall until June 5. Moran Park is Patriots’ Public Cemetery. Hone to Jeon Tae-il’s and Park Rae-jeon’s tombs.
Park Rae-jeon enrolled in Korean Literature at SSU in 1982. He served as the Korean Literature Department’s student council leader in 1988, and he burned himself to death that June.
