These days, most modern people live with many more diseases than their ancestors because of westernized lives and bad living habits. For example, a lot of Soongsilians seem to have trouble in concentrating on their studies. They are suffering from a specific disease that distracts students attention from studying. The commonest that the majority of people as well as Soongsilians have is rhinitis. This is a kind of inflammation, in which symptoms of influenza and sinusitis are also differentiated from allergies and colds. The general symptoms of rhinitis are congestion, runny nose, sniffing, snoring and postnasal drip, in which mucous drips into the throat from the back of the nasal passage, especially when lying on the back.

Hence, if you cough a lot or your nose is stuffy in particular in the mornings and evenings or if you think you suffer form rhinitis like your nose is very sore and liquid keeps coming out it, you should g for a check up in a hospital.

Rhinitis is hereditary and can be inherited, thus if one of your family always has a cold or has an allergy like atopy, asthma, you can also be infected. Adult Rhinitis leads to chronic fatigue, headache or tiredness and decrease in work ability while infant rhinitis can be more serious, which causes children to have stunted growth, lack of concentration and learning abilities.

Then let’s find out what kinds of rhinitis there are. There are three kinds of rhinitis: acute rhinitis, chronic rhinitis and allergic rhinitis. Acute rhinitis is a condition in which sudden inflammation due to a bacterium or virus in the nose or unknown cause. It is a common disease easily infected to anyone, and especially young children come down with this more easily. But when they grow older, the possibility which children could have this acute disease declines. You can get a chronic disease if you suffer from acute rhinitis repeatedly or if you have other chronic diseases. This disease is commonly lasts longer or worsens as time goes by. The last, allergic rhinitis, is the most common ailment among the three, and it results from a sensitive reaction to smoke from cigarettes, mold and dust. The general symptoms are a continuous cough, sniff and stuffy nose. The number of people who have allergic rhinitis is rapidly increasing due to changes in our living environment and a variety of habits and environmental pollution. The causes of rhinitis are diverse. However, be aware of the following in order that you can get rid of this ailment with your own efforts. Since rhinitis is caused by many complex factors, I have selected some of the most obvious and typical causes. The first one is that it develops from a cold. The symptoms of the rhinitis are similar to those of the cold so you may confuse them. There are many people who misconceive their symptoms as a cold, take cold medicine, and then they realize they have come down with chronic rhinitis or empyema.

▲ Fruits and vegetables, especially mushroom is good for revening rhinitis

You have to know the most recognizable differences between rhinitis and a cold. That is, rhinitis has no pain or fever. Therefore if you cough or run at the nose for 2~3 weeks, that is not just a cold. You should see an otorhinolaryngologist. The second cause is that it caused by the external factors. There are more and more people having allergic rhinitis because of contaminated air, changes of living environment and eating habits. Pollutants go into our organs and that causes the disease.

The last cause is incorrect living habits. Korean people’s sitting habits and their uncomfortable chairs bring about instability to muscles and bones. Sleeping on your stomach, long-time use of a computer, resting your chin on your hands, chewing food in one side of your mouth, and stresses or tensions lead to disturb the secretion of hormones. These habits cause a declines of immunity, bringing about rhinitis or asthma. Another of the most important factors is wrong eating habits. People don t eat fermented and safe slow food. They d rather choose fried dishes, instant food, genetically modified organism(GMO) or monosodium glutamate(MSG). This leads to depreciation of immune system and disproportion of organ ability. So you should avoid eating instant food, cold dishes, and unbalanced diets. What are recommended to maintain your health are eating various kinds of vegetables, fruits, yogurt, Kimchi, and soybean paste that makes your immune system strong. Unfortunately, rhinitis can be transmitted from your parents. If one of your parents is allergic to something while pregnant of careless with medicine, their children are liable to allergic or have chronic rhinitis.

There many efficacious food which protect against rhinitis. Cinnamon is good for rhinitis so it s helpful for you to drink cinnamon water frequently at any time. The root of leeks is effective in the prevention of colds and rhinitis because it is an antifungal. You don t have be afraid to drink because it s bitter since it is easier to drink boiled down water of root of leeks. It is also advisable to eat vegetables rather than meat, and in particular mushrooms are best food effective against rhinitis. Just eating mushrooms is good, but it is better to dip them into soybean paste. Banked gallic onions and boiled potatoes increase the immunity of the body so remember to eat them regularly. Let s see which bad foods you should avoid. You should keep away from food which is known to have antigens. Those foods are dairy products such as milk, butter and eggs, chocolate, strawberries, peaches, peanuts, and flour. Particularly, the food added to wheat flour worsens the condition or rhinitis. In general alcohol, cigarettes and too spicy and salty food are harmful to your health as well.
