SSU Startup Support Group Selected as the Best Institution for the Third Consecutive Initial Start-up Package

    On March 10, the SSU Start-up Support Group was selected as the best institution for the third consecutive time after the organization was evaluated for hosting the initial start-up package. The initial start-up package is a project that supports universities with excellent start-up infrastructure and the capabilities to revitalize youth start-ups by the Ministry of SMEs (Small and Medium sized Enterprises) and Startups and the Start-up Promotion Agency. The start-up support group has been selected as the host organization every year since 2016, and has collaborated with 27 companies through the commercialization of start-up items in 2020. Since it was selected as the best institution every year, it received about 2.41 billion won in business expenses and 19 billion won in support of start-ups over the past four years.

    SSU is planning to establish a virtual augmented reality simulator room and an indoor drone airfield by investing 4 billion won, while
opening practical start-up education, Naver-linked practice education. Choi Jung-il, head of the Start-up Support Group, said, “With the
importance of securing national competitiveness based on small and medium-sized enterprises, we will lead innovation in future start-ups
through the cooperation with Naver, and establish a start-up.” The startup support group will serve as a hub for establishing a systematic
and high-quality start-up education system and fostering successful start-ups through different start-up support activities.
