MOU between SSU and Woori Finance to Foster Digital Innovation Talents

     On June 30, an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) was signed between SSU and the Woori Financial Group. This agreement is aimed at fostering digital professionals. It is significant that both agencies are teaming up to promote future development in the financial and digital sectors.

     The content of the agreement includes cooperation between industry and academia, and the establishment of an information exchange system. Among them, the most important part is to train personnel in the field of digital innovation technology. SSU will set up the ‘Digital Innovation Talent Development Institute’ to support technology education and to proceed with a systematic program like ‘IT education project’ in financial circles. Woori Finance is going to operate practical education programs on new digital technology and general knowledge. Furthermore, customized curriculum for trainees will be operated by the Woori Financial Group by the second half of the year.

     Jang Beom-sik, the president of SSU, said “We hope that specialized IT education at SSU and the innovation of Woori Finance will create new values and mutual develpment through this business agreement.” All courses will be conducted under a full-time professor at SSU. Both agencies are expected to produce promising talents through a harmonious convergence of educational principles.
