The Ontact Mentoring Program for Students was held from June 15 to August 13 at SSU Counseling Center. Ontact Mentoring is designed to resolve students’ sense of social disconnection, and provide a venue for exchanges between students as prolonged social distancing measures have been imposed due to COVID-19. The Ontact Mentoring Program for Students, which was held through the online program, Zoom, was conducted for three weeks, from July 12, with one mentor and two mentees. Mentors delivered necessary information on school life to mentees who experienced difficulty going to school due to the conduct of non-face-to-face classes, such as introducing the buildings in the school, visiting SSU attractions, and counseling on career concerns. Soongsilians who participated in the program answered in an interview, “It was difficult to get close to my seniors and colleagues because I couldn’t go to school due to COVID-19, but I met good mentors and mentees through the ontact program.” Through this Ontact Mentoring program, it seems that it has formed a healing network among enrolled students by reducing their psychological pain as a result of COVID-19.

As such, the SSU Counseling Center provides various services to ensure students’ healthy school life and growth. It is conducting personal counseling programs to help solve concerns in college life and explore options for self-growth, as well as programs to help develop one’s potential, improve interpersonal skills. When there are psychological difficulties that are difficult to solve alone, Soongsilians should actively use the services of the SSU counseling center because they provide personal counseling and learn more about themselves.
