SSU Growing with AI

 SSU has responded quickly to the changing demands of times by introducing an innovative curriculum in the field of information technology. SSU established Korea’s first AI (Artificial Intelligence) department in 1991, Korea’s first information science college in 1996, and Korea’s first IT(Information Technology) college in 2005, thus raising its status as a leading university in the IT field.

 Having set various firsts in the IT field, SSU is now laying the groundwork to become the best university in the field of AI convergence. SSU has introduced a convergence complex course that grafts AI into all majors from 2021 as an educational strategy to nurture AI talents.

 In addition, SSU was finally selected for the ‘Artificial Intelligence Semiconductor Convergence Human Resource Development’ project hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT(Information and Communication Technologies). Accordingly, SSU will open a major related to AI semiconductors on campus, and nurture outstanding talents through various industry-university cooperation projects. Through this venture, a number of departments from SSU will join forces to create a new AI semiconductor alliance major and develop and operate related specialized curricula. In the future, SSU, a prestigious IT school, is expected to produce outstanding talents in the AI semiconductor market and achieve substantial results in the field of AI education.
