SSU 2026 Early Admission Final Competition Rate

     SSU concluded its early 2026 admission application period on September 12th. A total of 30,402 students applied for 1,739 available spots, recording a final competition rate of 17.69 to 1. This is a slight decrease from the previous year’s rate (17.86 to 1).
     By specific admission tracks, the Comprehensive Student Record (SSU Future Talent Track) saw a rise, averaging 17.82 to 1 compared to 16.08 to 1 last year. Notably, the School of Systems Biomedical Science recorded the highest competition rate at 44.69 to 1, followed by the Department of Journalism. The newly established School of AI Convergence also demonstrated high interest from applicants, exceeding the average rate with 20.03 to 1.
     Conversely, the competition rates for both the High School Record-based Preference Admission (Outstanding Student Track - Principal Recommendation), which recorded an average of 8.18 to 1, and the Essay (Outstanding Essay Track), which recorded 38.34 to 1, saw a slight decrease from the previous year.
     The competition rate for the Arts and Physical Education Talent-based Admission remained high. The highest rate was recorded in the Acting field at 56.25 to 1, followed by the Directing field at 53.91 to 1, and the Football field at 8.80 to 1. From the 2026 academic year, the percentage of high school competition results considered in the Football field increased from 40% to 50%, placing more emphasis on national tournament performances. With the successful conclusion of the early admission process, attention now turns to the results of the upcoming regular admission.
