Korea Soongsil Cyber University (KCU), the first online university, recruited new and transfer students until February 16. A total of 16 departments recruited students, and anyone who has graduated from high school could apply for admission into this university. Most noticeable in this recruitment was the Department of Entry Business, a new department of KCU. To keep pace with the high growth rate of the digital contents market, KCU established the new department and is recruiting talented people to lead the development of the country’s cultural industry.
Today’s entertainment companies have good systems and education programs in relation to production but lack experience in the aspect of business. Therefore, many companies are hard put to it because they don’t have a service mentality for their users, even though they secure good contents. To solve this problem, KCU came up with the idea of operating the Department of Entry Business, using Cyber University’s advantage of having no time and place constraints. First, the department recruited excellent faculty members with the help of famous entertainment companies like Musiccube, DFSB Kollective, and FIX Korea. There are also many education programs for operating the new department. Through these plans, KCU dreams of training many talented people in the cultural industry.
