Last December 27, an Awarding Ceremony of Institutional Accreditation was held in the Grand Ballroom of Millennium Seoul Hilton Hotel. Institutional Accreditation, a system which has been implemented by the Korean University Accreditation Institute, was introduced in 2011 to assure university education quality by its own evaluations.
SSU has met the criteria for the accreditation which is recognized under the regulations by the Ministry of Education. The recognition of the accreditation holds good for five years, from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2018.
Particularly, Creative Lectures with ALC (Active Learning Classroom) was selected as a model for this accreditation. Since 2011, Soongsil University has opened the lectures under the slogan of “From the First to the Best.” Unit 406 in Jo Man-sik Memorial Hall, where a computer docking system is installed to each round table and glass-boards are equipped, has been used for ALC.
