Freedom comes with responsibility. People should take responsibility for how they use their freedom. In the 21st century, we are overfilled with freedom. However, a vast majority of people avoid such duty while living in this luxurious free society. In fact, most of the problems and inconveniences that we experience in life come from this lack of responsibility.
An example of this is the participation of college students in group projects, wherein the students engage in a collaborative work in order to prepare for a presentation or a report in groups of 3 to 5 people. There are instances when some of the students find this group activity unfair because there are members who are not contributing to the work, and still receive the same scores as the other members who did their best. The reason for such free ride can be laziness, idleness, or lack of time. A lack of responsibility covers all of these factors. No matter how lazy a person is, or how troublesome the task may be, if one possesses a sense of responsibility, he should certainly be aware of his duties.
There are other examples of irresponsible people, such as that of a captain who abandons his passengers while the boat is sinking, a parent who deserts his own child, or a teacher who abuses her student. A sense of responsibility can be much heavier than one might expect, and it would be unrealistic to assume that everyone can behave in a mature way. The man who wishes to have freedom shall have to bear its weight.
