A long journey in the year 2018 of the Soongsil Times is almost coming to an end. From the start of the year until December, there were many activities involving ST. ST interviews the editors of the Soongsil Times on their genuine feelings for the year……………………………………………………………..Ed
ST: Hello, as my first question, is there anything that you wanted to do but couldn’t, or do you have any regrets about the works that you’ve done?
Joo So-young (Joo): I was in charge of the new Web department. Since it was my first time to work there and having no experience in making a film, I was quite worried about leading our members and planning the production of a film. I think it’s because we didn’t have any experience, and we were all nervous with the new environment being surrounded by exchange students and cameras. However, we improved on the later films.
Lee Woo-yoon (Lee): In my case, I always wanted to try the PHOTO section in our magazine, but I couldn’t because other members came up with better ideas. Next time, when I am presented with an opportunity, I’m sure I can take a perfect picture. I was so sad I didn't have the chance earlier.
ST: Do the Editor-in-Chief and the Planning Director have any activities that you’ve been most proud of, or have regrets for the year?
Yun Ji-hui (Yun): The Soongsil Times is not only an English-language magazine but it is also engaged in many other activities. Specifically, I remember the homecoming day with seniors. Now, as the end of the year approaches, I feel sad that I couldn’t spend more time with the ST cub reporters, and create good memories with them. I hope I can spend more time with them next year.
Hwang Joon-seok (Hwang): In my case, the magazine came out in a much better quality than I’ve expected. Also, the film that we made was really good for a first attempt. I feel really proud of it. One thing that was hard for me as an Editor-in-Chief was finding the right balance between being an Editor-in-Chief and being a colleague to ST reporters. However, I'm glad that they were quite cooperative.
ST: Do you have anything to say to the people who will be the next Editors of the Soongsil Times?
Hwang: I hope the next Editor-in-Chief and all the editors work hard to become close, and encourage ST reporters to act in good synergy in all of their activities. Also, I hope the editors can create a more active environment to bring out good ideas and well-crafted magazines.
Lee: There's always work to do, but this year, work sometimes depended on a few people, and it was a heavy burden to them. Next year, I hope editors and staff members of The Soongsil Times all actively participate to accomplish a common goal.
