On June 26, SSU held the Seminar on Entrance Examination for parents so that they could understand the admission process of SSU. The event was held at Hyungnam Hall of the Hyungnam Memorial Engineering Building, with 50 parents of high school students in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon.
SSU designed a seminar with information on entrance examination, including an introduction on ways to enter SSU, the result of the entrance exam last year, and special lectures on letters of self-introduction and interviews based on detailed examples. In particular, SSU offered parents counseling opportunities with experts on college entrance and career processes so that they could get personalized information on career designs that are related to their child’s desired major. For parents who failed to participate, SSU held an online seminar on July 17. Also, SSU distributed brochures on majors in SSU and letters of selfintroduction and entrance interviews.
Since last year, there have been situations in which direct communication was not possible because of COVID-19 restrictions. The event followed the quarantine rules for carefree, face-to-face conditions. It was a meaningful event because it did not only overcome the lack of communication due to COVID-19, but also offered effective information to future Soongsilians. SSU will be always willing to help students prepare to enter the university.
