In May 2022, SSU selected six specialized departments for cultivating next-generation LEAD expertise. The selected departments are the School of Global Commerce, IT (Information Technology) Convergence Major, School of Electronic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, AI (Artificial Intelligence) Convergence Department, and School of Creative Writing. SSU plans to revamp the specialized education process and pursue four major strategic goals, including fostering future-oriented specialized fields, establishing an innovative convergence education system, advancing specialized management support systems, and promoting development and diffusion. In the future, all departments are expected to benchmark the specialized departments to promote their growth.
The specialized department project will be maintained until 2026, with an increase in the admission capacity and four years of additional financial support. The amount of support will be adjusted annually based on the results of the annual evaluation.
