Among the public talent training programs at Soongsil University, Soonghyeongwan (Law School Preparation Class) is a core track dating back to the 1980s. Despite the university’s extensive support and benefits, it currently faces the challenge of low application rates. Therefore, there is a need to refocus on the true value it provides, which goes far beyond a standard exam preparation class.
Soonghyeongwan provides study spaces, Legal Education Eligibility Test mock exam support, and textbook reimbursements. Student Head Kim Gwan-jun (Political Science and International Relations, 23) explained, “You develop a clearer sense of responsibility compared to studying alone, and active networking and information exchange among peers and alumni are major strengths.” He urged hesitant students, “Law school admission is not determined solely by Grade Point Average, so do not be intimidated and take on the challenge.”
Its objective extends beyond merely passing exams. Advising Professor Lee Sang-hyun (Department of Global Law) defined Soonghyeongwan as “an educational venue that cultivates self-discipline, rigorous training, pride, and a sense of community.” Through study plan reviews and reading debates, it fosters logical thinking and career design, shaping students into judicial talents with strong public consciousness.
Soonghyeongwan is a robust infrastructure for Soongsil’s future judicial talents. If you aspire to the legal profession, it is worth stepping up to the challenge rather than hesitating. New members are recruited via SSU announcements a month before each semester, and we anticipate the bold challenges of Soongsilians cultivating their sense of duty here.
