Jo Man Sik Memorial Hall was completed on Friday August 10th. Jo Man Sik is a Korean independence activist and national director. It took one year and three months for the building to be completed.
SSU held a dedication worship service at 11AM in Jo Man Sik’ Memorial Hall on August 10th. This worship service was attended by about three hundred people including Park Jong-soon, the Chief Director of Soongsil University Foundation and Lee Hyo-gye who is the president of SSU.
Jo Man Sik Memorial Hall, which was started in April 2005, is a building with two stories below and seven above ground. This building will be used for humanities and social sciences lectures.
Lee Hyo-gye, the president of SSU said, “This building which will occupy the core of Humanities and Social Science education, is named after Jo Man Sik who used to be a student of Soongsil and is held in high esteem as Korea’s Mahatma Gandhi. We are going to start a commemorative business and related education for students to cherish the spirit.”
